I’m an avid watcher of The View. I started watching religiously back when Rosie was on and haven’t taken it off my Tivo since. You never knew what she would say next.In that time, I’ve learned to appreciate and respect Elisabeth Hasselbeck. She stands her ground in the midst of a daily firestorm of opposing opinion. It’s not easy to be the only person on a panel of 5 who feels a certain way. Their conversations get heated and she never backs down. I don’t necessarily agree with Elisabeth, but I commend her dedication to her beliefs. It doesn’t hurt that I was a huge Lis fan on Survivor (back when she was Elisabeth Filarski).
She hosted a luncheon for Cindy McCain during the GOP convention last week. In her intro of McCain, she took an unnecessary potshot at Michelle Obama.
I’ve heard several pundits and politicos take aim at Michelle, but you never really see any mud slung at Cindy. Why is that? Is Cindy McCain more pristine than Michelle Obama, or are left-winged commentators less likely to go after the wife of the candidate? I don’t really have an answer for that.
Elisabeth, keep fighting for your causes, but I implore you to think twice before trashing someone you were amazingly complementary of when they were standing in front of you on set. And for the record, I actually pulled for you when you where in all those verbal fisticuffs with Rosie.
